| Hey,
Thank you for creating such a fun and easy-to-use character generator for Shadowrun. My friend and I are having a blast putting guys together! (Also...how do we add programs to a comlink?)

| SR4 char gen cyberware | ||
| I noticed that in cyberware builds if you have a
piece of cyberware and you stick a Bulk Mod on, the capacity is changed be pending on the rating and reflects as a negative in the capacity subtotals but the Total of that part does not reflect the added space Bulk Mod give you.Thought you might want to check that code part out.

take about a month to RMA. This laptop cant really run VS 2008 very well, so I wont be able to resume development for a little bit, but I'm collecting all of your bug reports... yup d:- D

| SR4 Generator | ||
| Hey, great program you've got there! I read
through some of the comments and I noticed that you mentioned you didn't have the anniversary edition of the game. E-mail me and I'll get you a digital copy (i.e. .pdf) for free so you can "reference" the work. ;) In the meantime, you can also check out the official website because there's a .pdf of the errata for major changes between the 6th printing or whatever and the Anniversary edition. Keep up the great work!

| Qualities glitch | ||
| I noticed an odd glitch while working on a
magician. Adding any Quality reduces the BP cost for being an adept/technomancer/magician/magical adept by 5. If you clear the Special drop-down and have no other Positive Qualities, the Positive Qualities BP total will actually go negative.

| well, | ||
| the charGen is far from SR4A ready, the target is
SR4, but if I could make it SR4A that would be a bonus(I dont even have that book). So I'll add that to the SR4A list of updates to make. The spare clips and holsters are in the weapon accessories drop, as that is where they were listed in the book. You might get the "Cannot Equip All" if you have a weapon that was explicitly listed as being unable to mount accessories, or that cannot be further modified. I was unsure how to interpret that, so I was just extremely strict with the rule. I'll consider moving grenades to the ammo/throw weapons section.

| Knowledge Skills | ||
| I beleive the knowledge skill wording was
changed in the 20th anniversity version of the core book. The orgional core book does say one bp but the new one says on page 85 "As with Active skills, your character can specalize in Knowledge skills. Specalizing in a Knowledge skill cost 1 Knowledge skill point (or 2PB)" Also for knowledge skills perhaps it would be easier to simply have blanks you can fill in and pick ranks for rather then pull downs to allow people to make their own knowledge skills. Couple minor issues I noticed with the new 4.0 version. The holsters no longer seem to be available as gear choices. Also the core book grenades are still listed under gear and not the weapons page. Spare clips also do not seem to be a choice any longer. Thanks

| Thanks for the feedback! | ||
| @Anonymous
As far as i know the build points for knowledge skills work correctly. If you found a discrepancy, however, please direct me to a page number and give a short quote if you can, and then I'll try to put out a fix in the next update. I'll look into improving the dropdown selection process. I know a lot of those lists are too long, and scrolling gets tiresome. I've implemented a search for the Gear that I think works nicely, but I'll have to get a new type of GUI to fit in all of the small spaces. @qzap Thanks for your interest in the charGen. I'm aware that a lot of the drop downs are frustrating to scroll through, and so I'll look into adding search mechanisms similar to the one on the gear page for the rest of the drops. The trouble I have with making a knowledge skills list is that I'd like it to be community generated if I'm going to add an extensive list. If you'd like to start a thread on dumpshock or something, I could take whatever everyone comes up with ^^ As far as character details go, you can now write them on the notes page, and explain their appearance, origin, or anything else you feel like writing. The generator isnt designed to be used for character improvement, but if your only trouble with using it that way is that you get gripes, you might want to look at the options for raising the max bp you can spend, etc. I dont think you will be able to fully use the chargen for progressing your characters, however. and finally, ya, the print page isnt very spectacular. I'll try to implement the standardized character save format later on so you can export it to the excel sheet or something. cheers d:- D

| Just what we think | ||
| I have only just started playing and GM the
Shadowrun system and I have to say that your character generator it one of the better I have run into. Not that there are a lot out there. My group of about 7 gamers have tried out your gen and had this to say. Liked 1) Good mechanics 2) Easy to accomplish character. 3) Love that you have the different metahuman in the build 4) Easy construction of vehicles 5) Magic, Technomancer, and Cyberware pages are easy to use. 6) Overall just plane easy to use. Wish an/or gripe 1) Cyberware and bioware should be separated on the build page. Too long of a drop down list to sort through. 2) Knowledge skill list is very short. Yes I know we can add it, but with 7 or more players that could get hairy. 3) Vehicle page doesn’t allow you to add weapons to vehicles or drones. If it does I haven’t found it. 4) Doesn’t let you define your characters looks. No hair, eye, weight, height, age, sex, scars, build, origin (Country), etc.. 5) There is no way to update the character once you have it built, without it telling you have done something wrong.. 6) Biggest gripe – The output pages need lots of work. We would like to see skills liked with the proper stat and a dice pool number given. Same with initiative, weapon usage, etc… As it is now with your generator we print it out then have to go back through the book ad add the number in. In the end the character sheet is awash with pencil and eraser marks. Right now most of my players are using the generator for reference and vehicle/drone builds. Once you incorporate a well balanced character sheet output to this generator it will be the primary character designer in our group.

| SR4 Knowledge skills | ||
| When I choose a specalization for a Knowledge
skill it subtracts a BP rather than from the free Knowledge skill pool. Also there is no way to speficy if a skill is street Knowledge, profession, etc. Is there anyway the pulldowns can use a filter where you can start to type the name of what you want and it will filter via the part of the word typed in, this applies to all skills, gear etc. Thanks

| To be more clear: | ||
| Your .Net version appears to be 2.0.
You need to download the updated version of the .Net Framework (3.5) there is a service pack 1, but you may not need that (though I would recommend getting it anyway) Greetings from California d:- D

| this is not a bug. its a feature ^^.
spell knack is only supposed to be taken with non- magical characters. "This quality may not be taken by characters who also possess the Adept, Latent Awakening, Magician, Mystic Adept, or Technomancer quality" -Street Magic P.26 It also only increases by 5 bp, but the adept ability also costs 5 bp, which are under the positive quality category. thanks for the report though! d:- D
